HUI07: Hue Royal Tombs 1 Day (L)

8:30am - your guide will meet you at your hotel to take you to the Thien Mu Pagoda, and a cruise along the Perfume River to the Tombs of Emperor Minh Mang. The tomb was planned by the Emperor and built shortly after his death, it is opulent and exotic, and laid out in formal Chinese style. After lunch, you’ll visit two more two more tombs, those of Emperors Tu Duc and Khai Dinh. The tomb of Tu Duc, the ‘poet Emperor’, is set in an elegant garden with a magnificent lake and pavilion complex. In complete contrast to Emperor Tu Duc’s stylish creation, the tomb of Emperor Khai Dinh is an unprepossessing concrete construction. Its interest lies in the uneasy combination of Vietnamese and European features, and the use of fragments of ceramics and glass for decoration. Tour ends at your hotel at around 17:30.
