| Home >> Tour Shop :>>SHP103: Sai Gon - My Lai - Quang Tri DMZ - Hanoi 20 Days/19 Nights A complete tour of special interest to Vietnam veterans, teachers and students of the Vietnam War, historians, and people interested in military history. Day 01 : Sai Gon Arrival Our professional tour guide will meet and greet you at the airport, and then drive you to the city for hotel check-in. Free time to make your own exploration of the bustling city of Saigon. Overnight in Saigon Day 2: Sai Gon - Tay Ninh - Cu Chi tunel (B,L) Breakfast at the hotel, and then drive to Tay Ninh known as the headquarters of Caodaism. On arrival, attend the fantastic mid-day temple service when followers fill the hall wearing colored robes, a symbol of the curious combination of Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism. On the way back, visit the Cu Chi Tunnels, an underground network of tunnels constructed by Vietnamese fighters during the struggle for independence. The tunnels looks like a small town contained hospitals, accommodation, etc. and were used as a military defense during the American war. At the end, we drive back to Ho Chi Minh city. Dinner on guest’s account. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh city. Days 3: Sai Gon - Mekong Delta ( B,L,D) After breakfast, leave Saigon for My Tho located on the northern banks of the Mekong river and is the closest town in the Delta area to Ho Chi Minh City, about 2 hours drive away. In My Tho, you will also find a maze of small canals that can be explored on one of the many organized boat tours. Enjoy a boat trip along the Mekong River and visit an orchard on an island, with lunch en route. Continue our visit to a Snake farm and then head to Can Tho. Check-in hotel. Free time and Overnight in Can Tho. Day 4: Mekong Delta - Sai Gon (B/L) In the morning, we'll take a 3-hour boat cruise to Cai Rang and Phong Dien, 2 big floating markets with a stop at a Bun Tau noodle factory, and then take a short trek to a rice-husking mill. Here is also your challenge to pass over one of the many fragile monkey bridges along the canals photo shot. At the floating markets, you will discover a typical way of displaying and advertising farm products of local people gathering on the Mekong river to trade their goods. Drive back to Saigon with lunch served in My Tho. Arrive in Saigon in the late afternoon. Check in hotel again and free time at leisureDay 5: Sai Gon City Tour (B,L) City tour of Saigon including the Presidential Palace, Remnants of War Museum (formerly American War Crimes Museum), Old U.S. embassy, Cho Lon (Chinatown), Central Post Office and Notre Dame Cathedral on what was once called John F. Kennedy Square. The next stops are at Thien Hau Pagoda, Binh Tay Market, and Lacquer Ware factory. We end the trip in the late afternoon at your hotel. Day 6: Sai Gon - Vung Tau (B,L) After breakfast, we drive to Vung Tau city. On the way, we stop for a visit at Di An, Bien Hoa, Long Binh, and Bear Cat. On your arrival, we check in the hotel, and the take an excursion to visit Villa Blanche, mountain top Jesus, Light House, Niet Ban Tinh Xa Pagoda. Lunch will be served at our restaurant. The rest of your time is free at leisure on white sandy beach. Day 7: Vung Tau - Nha Trang (B,D) After breakfast, drive to Nha Trang via Xuan Loc, Phan Thiet, Phan Rang, and Cam Ranh Bay. Check in the hotel. After that, we'll take you to visit Tri Nguyen Oceanographic Institute aquarium, Ponagar Tower, Chong Rock, Bao Dai Villa, and Long Son pagoda. Day 8: Nha Trang - Buon Me Thuot (B,L) Here we start our car trip straight to the Central Highlands. Drive from Nha Trang to Buon Me Thuot, elephant training center and coffee plantations. Free time at leisure and Over night in the hotel in Buon Me Thuot city Days 9: Buon Me Thuot - Kon Tum (B,L) There are some interesting things to do this morning. Our first stop is at Ethnology Museum where we can see many things come from the daily life of ethnic minorities in Vietnam such as : clothes, cultivated tools, musical instruments... We continue on to Khai Doan Pagoda, the last one of Nguyen Dynasty in the Central Highland. The architecture of this pagoda is mixed between long house-on-stilts of Ede group and traditional house in Hue. Next we'll visit Buon Ma Thuot’s bustling regional market. You can buy some souvenirs before driving to Kon Tum in the afternoon. Overnight at hotel in Kon Tum. Day 11: Kon Tum - Quy Nhon ( B,L) After breakfast, we'll drive from Kontum to Qui Nhon with a stop at Quang Trung Museum under Tay Son dynasty. After your hotel check in, we take you to visit Phat Loi pagoda, Cau Den wharf, and the rest of your time is for relaxing on the most beautiful beach here named Hoang Hau Beach, Hai Giang beach (Queen beach). Over night in Quy Nhon city Day 12: Quy Nhon - Quang Ngai (B,L,D) Transfer from Quy Nhon to Quang Ngai province (180km). Stop some points on the route for sightseeing and taking photos. Lunch will be served on the way at local restaurant, and then check in hotel. After that, you are free to discover local lifestyle here. Dinner at hotel. Free evening. Overnight in Quang Ngai. Day 13: Quang Ngai - My Lai - Hoian (B,L,) Morning departure for Chu Lai battle field, Long Phu village, Nui Thanh monument, then continue going to My lai village where impressed with "My lai massacre". Excursion to Van Tuong village in Binh Son village, Binh Dong village. At the end of our visit here, we drive straight to Hoian city. Over night in Hoi AnDay 14: Hoi An (B,L) Take cyclo tour 1-hours to visit Hoi An ancient city, it was a major Asian trading port in the 17th and 18th centuries and its architecture as well as people's lifestyle here have changed little over the years. You visit former merchants’ houses, the 400 year-old Japanese Covered Bridge and the colorful market. Then take car to visit Military bases in town (located on Le Hong Phong, Ly Thuong Kiet, Phan Chu Trinh street). Shopping at galleries and silk shops. Overnight in Hoi an. Day 15: Hoi An - Da Nang - Hue (B/L) Breakfast at the hotel, check out, transfer to Danang to visit Cham museum. Then depart for Hue (130km) with some stops at Hai Van Pass and Red Beach where the first U.S. combat marines landed in 1965. Upon arrival, check into the hotel. In the afternoon, we take a cyclo touring the city to visit the Citadel and Flag Tower, Forbidden Purple Imperial. Dinner and over night in Hue Day 16: Hue (B,L) Cruise on the Perfume River to the Thien Mu Pagoda, oldest and most important Buddhist shrine in Vietnam. Here you will see the Austin driven by the monk to his immolation in Saigon to protest the anti-Buddhist repression of President Ngo Dinh Diem. Continue your cruise to the mausoleum complex of Emperor Minh Mang and then visit tombs of Emperors Tu Duc and Khai Dinh. Day 17: Hue - Dong Ha (B,L) Proceed Northward to Mc Namara’s electronic barrier, DMZ, 17th parallel the provisional demarcation line, Hien Luong bridge, Vinh Moc tunnels, Con Tien fire-base, Camp Carroll fire-base, Ta Con airfield, Ho Chi Minh trail. Dinner and overnight in Dong Ha. Day 18: DMZ - Hanoi (B,L) Breakfast at the hotel, and then transfer to Khe Sanh. Pass a series of fire support bases and the Rock pile and the Da Krong Bridge, Khe Sanh Base, a French fort, battle sites and military camps. Overnight train ride to Hanoi. Day 19: Hanoi City Tour (B,L) Your train will arrive in Hanoi where you will see the city that was bombed by American B-52's. View "Uncle Ho" preserved under glass in his mausoleum. Visit Ho Chi Minh's home/office on stilts, the Ho Chi Minh Museum, and the Temple of Literature (Oldest University in Vietnam and shrine to Confucius). Evening performance in water puppet theater (unique to Vietnam). Day 20: Hanoi Departure (B) After breakfast ready for your flight back home. End of the tour
