The residence is located in a neighborhood of garden homes that was once a royal enclave and today ranks as one of Luang Prabang’s most exclusive development zones. In this historic home, Plumeria, the royal couple raised their four children in the house while Khamtan served as prefect of the provinces of Vientiane, Luang Prabang and Sayabouri. He died in a plane crash; his wife lived in the house until her death.
The hotel is set around the historic home, now known as Plumeria (frangipani) with seven additional buildings – each as intimate and comfortable as the annexes of a family compound.
The hotel’s “Art Décor “style is prevalent throughout with an original blend of French and British colonial furnishings , each room stands out as an individual testament to continental aesthetics that reigned in the 1930s and 1940s. The style trades on a melding of familiar, classic lines and the panache of vibrant tropical colors and appeal.
2/Accommodations
There are Seven low rise buildings housing the 33 rooms, each with its own special view of the garden and pool. Every building is appropriately named after flowers found profusely in Laos. Room amenities are inclusive of Air-conditioning, IDD phone, Mini-bar, in-room safety box, Coffee and tea facilities, flat screen TV, Hair dryer, WIFI, none-smoking room.
Wooden parquet floors, four poster beds, mahogany armories and classic fans, surrounded with ornately decorated walls with rich hues of colors and textures, produce an exuberant luxurious ambiance suitable for the privileged. All rooms feature en-suite bathroom and come equipped with modern amenities including a rain shower. Superior: 13 rooms with pool view and 15 rooms with garden view, 33m2. Deluxe: 4 with pool view and 1 with garden view, 33m2, all Deluxe rooms are located in the main historic building.
3/Restaurants and Facilities Restaurants: Le Vetiver: sited on a wooden deck, appointed with warm rose wood furnishings and sheltered by a canopy, this venue is a perfect alfresco dining experience. Serving various delectable flavors and local traditional cuisine. Additionally energizing cocktails and beverages are served all day.
Other facilities: Jouvence: the locale for various beauty treatments and services, such as pedicures, manicures, hair dressing and a selection of massage treatments as well. Le Meli Melo: features an array of traditional handicrafts and souvenirs, including hand picked accessories, collectables and gifts, perfect for family and friends. Swimming pool: this uniquely decorated pool is encompassed by a splendid wooden deck and shaded by tall trees. Set amidst tranquil gardens the hotel is an is an ideal way to relax and cool down. Comfortable sun beds are available for lazy sojourns, basking in the sun and reading.
4/Packages and Rates
The rates quoted are in US$, inclusive of breakfast, 5% service charge and 10% VAT
Check in time is from 2:00pm and check out time is at 12:00 noon. Children under 12 years sharing the room with parents without extra bed is free of charge.
Extra bed is available with a surcharge. Maximum 1 extra bed in one room. Early check in before 8am is at full charge (maximum for 2 pax with buffet breakfast) and after 8am is subject to the availability.
Extension of late check-out is subject to availability and will be charged as follows:
Check out until 17:30 – 50% of room rate (maximum of 2 pax with linen and amenities in room)
Check out after 17:30 – 100% of room rate (maximum of 2 pax with linen and amenities in room)
