Address: Nong Kiau Riverside, Ban Sop Houn, Muang Ngoy, Luang Prabang Province, Laos 1/Description Nong Kiau is a small rustic town by the bridge where the Route 1 to Sam Neua and Vietnam crosses the Ou River. This little settlement is blessed with probably the some of the most attractive natural settings in Northern Laos. Vertical limestone mountains with the river that runs through it takes the breath away. Nong Kiau Riverside stretches over 300 meters along the river only surrounded by forest and mountains. There are hardly any other sounds than the songs of hundreds of birds and cicadas.
The hotel features electric blankets and very hot showers in all rooms.
2/Accommodations
All of 15 bungalows feature a spacious 40 square meters quality private room with big private balcony and nice large bathroom. The balconies face the river with stunning view of the mountains. Due to limited electricity supply they do not provide aircondition, but as it's almost never hot in the nighttime you are more likely to value our electric heated beds and very hot showers in the cold season. 3/Getting to the Nong Kiau:
There are two ways to travel between Nong Kiau and Luang Prabang. The one is by road, the other by river. Buses leave from Luang Prabang Northern Bus Station in the morning around 8.30 and then again around 10.00 and 12.00. Schedules tend to fluctuate, so please check before travelling.
4/Packages and Rates
The rates quoted are in US$, inclusive of breakfast, 5% service charge and 10% VAT
Check in time is from 2:00pm and check out time is at 12:00 noon. Children under 12 years sharing the room with parents without extra bed is free of charge.
Extra bed is available with a surcharge. Maximum 1 extra bed in one room. Early check in before 8am is at full charge (maximum for 2 pax with buffet breakfast) and after 8am is subject to the availability.
Extension of late check-out is subject to availability and will be charged as follows:
Check out until 17:30 – 50% of room rate (maximum of 2 pax with linen and amenities in room)
Check out after 17:30 – 100% of room rate (maximum of 2 pax with linen and amenities in room)
